Auburn
Regional Medical Center's Auction to Remember
November 16, 2007
Auburn Regional Medical Center is lucky to have great
Geriatric Psychiatry staff members like Melissa Hadfield.
Melissa and her team worked for several months on developing a
silent auction to benefit the Alzheimer's Association. She and
her crew of Santa's elves made over $10,000 to end Alzheimer's
disease at their silent auction on November 16th. We thank
Melissa and her team for their hard work and dedication.
The event was held in the atrium of the hospital and was
attended by community members as well as hospital staff,
visitors, and neighboring business people. Committee members
from the Alzheimer's Association's South Sound Memory Walk
also attended. The event included members from different
senior services in the area. Silent auction items ranged from
beautiful hand blown glass, paintings and quilts to sports
memorabilia and radio controlled cars.
Scott
Ferguson completes the Group Health Seattle to Portland (STP
Bike Ride)
On July 14th and 15th, Scott Ferguson completed the
Group Health Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic, Group Health STP, a Cascade Bicycle Club event. The 200-mile bicycle ride
is the largest multi-day bicycle event in the Northwest, with
9,000 participants riding from Seattle to Portland in one or
two days. The route takes you through the scenic valleys,
forests, and farmlands of western Washington and Oregon. Come
join what Bicycling Magazine has listed as one of the best
cycling events in the nation.
Scott's participation in this event honors his
mother, Mrs. Helen Ferguson, who is living with AD and for his
late grandmother, Mrs. Marie Griffin who passed away from
Alzheimer’s. Scott has offered to generously match your
participation in pledges for the STP ride up to a total of
$5,000. We are grateful for Scott’s support and hope that you
will
consider giving.
Show your team spirit by purchasing your own

Highgate Senior Living held its first
annual golf tournament in honor of the Alzheimer's Association,
Western and Central Washington State Chapter, on Thursday, May 17th.
The golf tournament was at the beautiful Apple Tree Resort in
Yakima. More than 60 golfers registered for the event. Sponsors of
the event included many local wineries, Keith and Keith Funeral
Home, the Yakima Bears Baseball Team and Yakima National Bank, among
others. Highgate Senior Living did a wonderful job with the event. A
special thank you goes to Mandy Trujillo who organized and developed
