23rd Annual Alzheimer’s Regional Conference
Washington State Convention Center, Seattle
On April 4th our chapter hosted the 23rd Annual Alzheimer's Regional Conference entitled "I’m Still Here" at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. More than eight hundred participants, ranging from family caregivers to health care professionals, attended this sold-out event.
Through audience participation and real-life examples keynote speaker Naomi Feil, ACSW taught attendees how to use her Validation method to better communicate with people experiencing dementia. Participants further expanded their knowledge base during various workshops specifically designed for each of the specialized learning tracks. The day concluded with a bit of comic relief through Karen Stobbe and Mondy Carter’s performance of “Sometimes You Gotta Laugh”.
